Most of them we know by name, so when our potential customers want to know our real customers` feedback, we just email them to ask for a testimonial. And until today, we did not have ONE place to put all of their feedback and testimonials (what a shame!!!).

So we thought,

We get people asking these questions by emails pretty often. So I decided to dedicate a post on our blog explaining which package we suggest to choose when, what to do if you need backlinks for a new site, what types of backlinks you can start with, what to change them to later on, and such. So if you are not completely sure which package of backlinks to choose, this should explain it all.

First thing we ask our customers when they come to us asking for help with the package selection, is “what has been done previously with your site in regards to backlinks”?

Scenario#1: new website or no serious backlinking done

Most often their site is new or nothing serious has been done previously – no backlinks, or some backlinks with no real strategy.

In this scenario, we suggest to build backlinks in the following way (and I`ll explain why right after listing the order:)

1) Press Release submission package

2) Complete SEO package

3) Regular package

4) Press Release submission package

5) Regular package

Here is why this is effective (if on-page SEO is done of course!):

1) When you have a press release submitted, you start getting syndications and backlinks from all over the web, and the number of them is growing on a regular basis – without doing anything additionally (that`s just how press releases work, read more about it here).

Your site is starting to get backlinks, it`s starting to get attention in the eyes of the search engines. All happening naturally, various websites and thousands of blogs on the Internet are starting to speak about your site, linking to it with your keywords as an anchor text.

2) Then, your site is being submitted to directories (which is part of the Complete SEO package), fresh content starts to appear on Web 2.0 properties and article directories, all linking to your site – the attention YOUR website is getting, is steadily increasing, making your site look more and more popular.

3) At that same time, your links appear on dozens and hundreds of forum profiles, people start commenting on blogs and bookmarking your site – all of that voting for your site – all of that increasing your site`s importance.

High PR profile links and blog comments keep on showing up, the number of these backlinks is being catched up by the search engines every day – your site is getting popular!

4) Now, another press release is being submitted, letting other hundreds and thousands of blogs and websites to syndicate your content – all with YOUR links included.

5) You keep on increasing attention by adding another batch of high PR profile links, blog comments, RSS submissions and social bookmarking links.

During this time (4-5 months), your site should climb up in the search engines results. You add more backlinks to beat the competition until your keywords reach the desired position.

Scenario #2: Older site, backlinks are being built, but no serious movement

This is very frequent. First, we always suggest to improve the on-page SEO. It is almost ALWAYS that there is something missing.

Please make sure you have your site optimized very well:

- Keyword in the title, description and meta keywords, URL too if possible

- Keyword in H1, H2, H3

- Image on the page with the keyword as and ALT text

- Keyword in the first and the last 100 words

- Similar keywords used (you can find them by doing a search on Google for your main keyword, scrolling down to the bottom of the results page – and there Google shows a few related ones)

You need to add more fresh, unique content to your page (that`s extremely important after the Google algorithm update!).

Now, to start moving the site, steps of the scenario #1 should be done, just that you might need more backlinks to get the rankings moving. One of the most important parts in this scenario #2, is that AFTER you get the site optimized and more fresh content on it, you need to let Google know it needs to re-evaluate your rankings. And of course, to re-evaluate, it will need to have the newest copy of your site – re-cache it.

To get the site recached, a good idea is to have it pinged and social bookmarked at 100-200 social bookmarking sites over a period of several days. Do not freak out if your site is not yet re-cached in a week or so – many times it can take two weeks or even more. Google is not as fast as we would like it to be sometimes

Conclusion

Please keep in mind all of the above goes hand in hand with the on-page optimization, and great content on your site (especially after the latest Google algorithm update, which is all about sharing great content on your web property).

When you have your site well on-page optimized, and you share great content (which is exactly what Google is looking for – to provide its searchers the best search experience), a good backlinking strategy will do the job!

We are about to share with you something so simple you will be surprised.  :) and this is probably one of the easiest ways to monetize your blog traffic.

We know that often we spend a lot of money on the next best thing, but we (Alex and I) have learned that some of the best things are actually free

The banners we created ourselves.  The design is simple and to the point.  It stands out on almost every WordPress theme.  For our affiliates we have created many more banners just like these two (if you want to see them, here is the link to LinkDominators affiliate program).   Further more, the plugin we used, it also is free – Max Banner Ads. It is really easy to set it up and use, and the best thing is that you have the tracking in place – so you see how well your banners convert, and can just drop those that do not perform well.

You know that most banners have CTR 1%-3% so having almost 20% really makes us happy. I hope you will use this advice and convert more of your visitors into buyers – we really wish you to!

The fact is people are struggling with IM and online business so this post will be about making you some money . You know that we are also very big on list building, but most people ignore this important step so here is a very effective email marketing strategy that can print you money on demand.

The fact is – you have to capture those leads that come to your site.  It is a MUST!

Please listen to this strategy before you run away because it can really help you get a regular income and overall you do not have to work more than a couple of hours to maintain it (of course this is after you set it up ).

We often hear of people saying – if I could just make $500 extra from this business, it would really really help me.  And we will show you how to do exactly that (and probably more), so listen up.

This can be done in any industry.  Money saving tips, weight loss, IM and so on. The investments you need are a few:  Hosting, Domain Name and of course email auto responder such as Aweber.

The opt in should be for something people really can use.  So do give away something of a great value.  If in weight loss industry, give them a really cool diet plan… something people would pay money to get.   In IM industry it can be a training of some kind, in money saving tips, it could be secret strategies to cut the cost or pay off debt faster, and so on.  But what ever it is, make sure you do give them quality info.

The goal is to build a large list, but it does not happen over night!

So you will need to:

1. Write a powerful guide – must be something of a great value
2. Set up a squeeze page – make it so juicy that you would personally want to subscribe!
3. Set up your Thank You page – on this page you can give bonuses, sell ad space,
4. Set up a One time offer – this is your “success” page on Aweber list settings (meaning, that the real free guide is emailed to them)
5. Add privacy and disclaimer statement
6. Set up email auto responder and you are ready to go. Add your thank you as a redirect on your web form – that is, they would see your Thank You page right after filling in their name and email address, and your success page will be one time offer)

Some helpful resources for those are:  niche marketing camp (formerly owned by us) as well as our free list building guide, HOWEVER, we will explain in details what you need for this strategy to work.

But first, if you build a list you have many benefits.  You can set up a one time offer and sell a product at 50% off.  This page can easily convert at 5-10% because the discount is huge.   It is better if you can make this offer to be a recurring membership.

Second, as you build the list, you can send your subscribers regular emails and 4 times a month sell an ad space to other IMer’s for $100 for 200 clicks.  That means right there you can get $400 bucks from your list.  And if you mail your list 2 times only, you can easily make affiliate sales, your own product sales and of course ad space revenue.

Yes, I know, in order to get to that you need to build the list first.  So how to do it?  Here is how:

In order for this to work, you will need to drive at least 10000 people to your site… Out of those 10000 you should get approximately 3000-4000 subscriber list.   That is if your squeeze page converts at 50% and considering that some people will never confirm their subscription.

With a list of 3000 people, you can easily get 200 clicks on your email message, making you $400 per month if you sell 1 ad per week.  Those clicks are better than Google ads and people are often willing to pay even more for list clicks.  Keep that in mind.

Of course when starting, the biggest obstacle is the traffic. In our massive traffic report we give you 14 different traffic strategies.  You either have to spend the money on it, OR you have to spend your time on it.  If you spend the money, that means paying or ad space such as Google ads and banner exchanges.  Or you can write lots of articles driving traffic to your site, and you can spend time in the forums where people are interested in what you have to offer.

Most people will choose the second option – articles.

If that is the case, then select some very low competition keywords for your articles.

First, make sure they don’t have more than 5000-10000 competing pages.

Second, keep in mind other products when selecting your articles.  This is a little twist and can drive you a lot of good traffic.  Let’s say you are promoting xyz diet.  For a popular diet, people do type in things such as “review of xyz diet”.  If those keywords do not have lots of competition, use them and in your article do a detailed review of that product, but saying, “however, this site is giving you a free guide on the same tips that xyz diet advertises”.  If they had to spend the money on the first, they will gladly sign up for the free guide.

Side note: Once you start getting regular traffic and sign ups, you can do traffic exchanges with other list builders who offer similar service or a guide as yourself, by placing an ad on their thank you page and they place an ad on your thank you page.

Now your goal is to set up 100 of those articles and you can post them on sites such as ezinearticles, usfreeads, goarticles, squidoo and so forth.  Give these articles you submitted a little link boosting (you can outsource to link building service) so they rank faster and don’t forget to do on page optimization for them.  If you are not good at writing articles, outsource the task to sites such as thecontentauthority.com.

Where do you find ad partners?  Well here are two sites to get started with:  http://warriorforum.com and http://www.safe-swaps.com/

Also, don’t forget to go with recurring memberships… This will eventually make you work less and earn more.  This will eventually create a steady flow of income.

We are not going to say this is easy… There is nothing easy about online business, BUT this is steady, it is the right and effective email marketing strategy which can easily create unlimited income for you and if you play it smart with recurring income, you can create truckloads of money !

We get many different questions from many of our customers. Some are concerns, and often people are just not aware how things work out. So here are some of those FAQ and responses.  We hope they help and answer some questions about our link building service and SEO in general.

So here we go!

Q: Hey Ivana and Alex, you built links for me 2 weeks ago and since then, my page keeps on changing rank almost daily.  What is going on?

A: That is called a “Google dance”, and in most cases it settles in 20-30 days and you get newly established rank.

Q: My page is not on the 1st page of Google yet – why is that?

A: Know that we really cannot guarantee the rank because it just does not depend on us, what we do guarantee is the links we build for you.  The thing is your page will move up, but – if you submit to us a generic keywords such as “weight loss”, we can build the links, but we cannot guarantee the rank, because that keyword phrase needs A LOT of SEO effort to rank, and many, many, many backlinks.

Q: How fast will I see results?

A: It can take up to 2 weeks to start seeing changes.  Sometimes it is instant, but sometimes it takes a little while. However, talking about the first page rankings, SEO is a slow game, and for many mid-competition keywords, it takes 2-3 or a few more months to get them to the first page.

Q: What is the PR (page rank) of the links that your link building service provides?

A: Profile links are posted on sites with 3-10 PR and the PR is passed onto your site.  However, in the mixture we do throw in no follow links as well, because this makes link building look more natural.

Q: I thought you would build hundreds of backlinks for me, but I only see 3 links on Google!

A: We do build hundreds of backlinks, and they ALL count, the reason you do not see them on Google is… read this post, we explain all of it.

Q: Can I change URL’s and Keywords each month?

A: Yes you can. Of course, if you rank for something, you probably can take a break from building links for that site, but keep checking the rank, in case it drops, you probably need to do another link boost. You can check the rank with free tool from SEO book.

There are two problems we often see:  one is that site owners have not done keyword research right, second is that they have not optimized their pages for their keyword.  We can build the links, but if you do not do your part, you are wasting your money and your time.  It takes about 15 minutes to do on page optimization, and it can take 1 hour to do proper keyword research… Spend that time, and then hire us.  We want you to rank. Having said all of this, please make sure you do not rely only on the SEO traffic for your sites… You do not have full control over it, and if the traffic stops, you will lose the income and the value of the site.  Having multiple streams of traffic that leads to your site is very important. Hi there… Yeah… Ivana is here and I’ve got to say, I am REALLY… MAD!!! Steam is coming out of my ears… And the reason you wonder?  Because 90% of you are wasting money on your link building efforts!  You are making HUGE SEO MISTAKES! I wish sometimes I could yell at you   ha ha… but instead I will spend a bit of my time and go over the most common mistakes we see!

KEYWORDS too BROAD!

Yes, try to rank for “coffee” or “diaper” or “tire” or anything along those lines WILL NOT MAKE YOU ANY MONEY!  You will probably not rank for it either, and again, even if you did, what is the point… it is too broad!

Sites NOT optimized!

What you should do is AT LEAST add your main keyword phrase into your URL.  Yeah, having it in the URL makes a huge difference! It is the basics of on page optimization.  If you just spend the extra 10 min to optimize your pages, you are going to succeed online. AND – you will need way less backlinks to rank well! These 10 minutes SAVE YOU MONEY!

LINKS Broken!

Yes, there is a way to shorten your links by doing this, but most of the times this is NOT the case.

The little % sign actually means you have left a space there!  DO NOT DO THAT, do it like this instead:

http://domain.com/keyword-Phrase

Text in the Graphics?  COME ON!

Crawling spiders cannot read the text that is in the graphics (unless you optimize the graphics for it)… Add the text, use “alt” for each image, to let the search engines know what you want to rank for!  It is a lot easier

Make an attractive title!

One last thing!  If you are trying to rank for example for “Link Dominators”  and that is what the link dominators title said, there is a HUGE chance no body would click on it even if you were on the very first result!  HOWEVER, if you make your title sound interesting such as “Current Discount on Link Dominators Service”, I bet more people would click on it!

So here is what you need to do!  DO your keyword research.  DO it well!  Add the keyword phrase in:

TITLE (make sure your keyword phrase is included in your title)

URL (make sure your keyword phrase is in your url)

Add your keyword phrase in the first and the last paragraph of your text (and throughout the text)

Get the keyword density right (make sure it is between 1-3%)

Ta da!!!  You have optimized it!  That is NOT too hard! These things are basic and they will get you up there!

And the very last thing… Now that I got this out of me I feel calm !  I hope you will listen to my advice because we have a customer James C.!  He actually is a member who has the  60 URL package,  and recently I checked his rankings!  He is in Google on the #1st page for a keyword phrase that has over 11 600 000 results!  (without quotes!!!) Now, you may wonder how he did this?  Simple, he is doing the steps that are outlined above and he is consistent with his link building!  That is it, nothing more!

We see people who give up after the very first week.  SEO takes time.  James has been with us for over 5 months now, and he listens when we offer him advice.  He recently sent this message to us: “Thanks Alex. You guys are a big help to my family and I”. This has brought tears to my eyes… Because we have managed to help someone with their business and it is helping to feed his family.

We really want to help you too… But you have to take action! Stop making those mistakes PLEASE!!! Because just 10-15 minutes spent on optimization can make all the difference!

Being in a service business is not always easy, especially when you feel personally responsible for the results your service brings, but at the same time, you meet new people all over the globe, you share your experience, you learn a lot from theirs, and enjoy every single step of the way. So thank you guys for being with us!

Now, every once in a while we feel there is a need to share ideas and express our opinion on a specific topic. This time, we`re going to speak about the difference between ranking your own site, or a content page on a Web 2.0 property (which can be a Squidoo lens, Blogger.com blog, an article on any article directory, etc. In short – a page you can easily create on any Web 2.0 property in an hour or two, without purchasing your own domain and spending your time on setting up a website).

So what is better, really – to rank your own site, or a simple Web 2.0 page with your content, that promotes some product?

First, let`s see what are the advantages and disadvantages of each:

Option #1: Creating your own website:

Advantages:

• YOU control the appearance, ads and outgoing links on the site
• You can set up Google Analytics or any other tracking
• It is an asset, which you can sell and make money – it belongs to you

Disadvantages:

• Much more time consuming
• Requires a small investment (domain name + hosting)
• Not indexed in Google, no rank because it`s brand new site

Option #2: Creating a page on a Web 2.0 property:

Advantages:

• Takes an hour or two to create, and you can start ranking it right away
• The site you are creating content on, already has some authority on Google, and can be much easier to rank
• No expenses are needed

Disadvantages:

• You have no control over the content that can be added next to yours: if that`s an article, and you want the reader to click on your link in it, there might be dozens of other links promoting other people`s products, so your CTR might be super low sometimes
• It is not yours – by submitting your content to other sites, you are helping their business, they make money off it.
• The site owners can change their rules as often as they want: one day you might be able to add 3 links to your content, the other day they might say you can only add one, and that one cannot even be an affiliate link.

Now, those are some general things you need to keep in mind, they do not actually help a lot when you need to make a decision.

In order to decide which option to choose for each specific situation (e.g. product, keyword, type of commissions, etc.), there are some factors you need to look at:

1) The number of keywords you want to rank

Say you want to promote a specific digital camera. You know it sells well, it has a good price, and you can get a good commission for a sale. You start researching for buyer keywords, but only find one that has a good search volume, and low competition. Of course you can build a new website for just that keyword (and it could probably rank very well if optimized correctly), but a better idea could be to simply create one page of content on Blogger.com, or USFreeads.com, or any other site, and get that page ranked. And of course, move on to the next product

2) Your chosen monetization method

There is a huge difference in whether you are going to promote a specific product and have affiliate links in your content, or if you are going to put AdSense, and make money for clicks.

First, the keywords you choose for these two types of monetization, are completely different: when promoting a specific product for affiliate commissions, you need to focus on “buyer” keywords, while in the case where you`re doing AdSense and need to get more clicks on the ads, you need “researchers”, and you need to focus on keywords that are “traffic keywords”, or “research keywords” – the keywords that people type in Google to get more information on the subject, but not to purchase anything.

AdSense marketers usually need as many pages of content online, as they can get. Buying domains, setting up websites is too “expensive” for them. This is why when making money with AdSense, many times a much better option is to create content on Web 2.0 properties instead of creating your own sites. The idea is to have more content, get it ready fast, and get it ranked for “research” keywords.

3) Your long term and short term goals

Ranking a brand new website can take longer than ranking a page on some authority site.

If your goal is to get traffic and make sales as soon as possible, just create a simple page or an article, and start working on getting it to the first page.

If you are building a business and can give it a few months to grow, good keyword research and a website built around high traffic / normal competition keywords is the best thing to do.

4) Your overall marketing strategy

Building many Web 2.0 pages that do not require as much time and effort as building new sites, is a good strategy when you want to “test the waters”. Many marketers create one-page blog posts (or one-page ads such as USFreeads), rank them (as many times it`s easier and faster to rank a page on an authority site), see if the product and keywords are profitable, and then choose more keywords, and build their own sites. This way they have an existing money making page, but are building an asset for more profits.

“Testing the waters” by creating your own sites might be very ineffective because of the time and investment needed.

Conclusion

If you`re promoting affiliate products, if you`re good at keyword research, if you have experience and can invest some time and money to reap the benefits later, it is always better to create your own websites and get them ranked on the search engines. This way you are building a real business, which you can even sell later on.

For people just starting out, for those who want faster money, and are not sure which product, keyword or niche is good to go after, a good idea is to create as many Web 2.0 content pages as possible, and start ranking them.

#1:

Every time you choose to create a Web 2.0 page, make sure you choose a site that does not have too many outgoing links. Some of the most popular Web 2.0 properties like Squidoo and EzineArticles.com have so many outgoing links and distractions that sometimes the reader might not even notice your link, and might click on any other, and leave the page.

#2:

Never rely on the search traffic only. Spend some time to promote each of your pages in forums, Answers and other places!

Every marketer wants to get high PR, valuable backlinks to their sites. We all want do follow backlinks as well. And there`s nothing bad about that, except for one thing – while 99% of the Internet Marketing world want those links, smart marketers do not ignore the “not so popular” backlinks. And you know why? Because they work!

Do-Follow? or No-Follow? Or BOTH?

Do-follow backlinks are great. They are spidered by the search engines spiders, and whenever they see a do-follow attribute, they visit the website the link points to.

But who told that no-follow links are bad? the “no-follow” attribute of the link just tells the search engine spider that it needs to visit that page or not. But whether the link has a “do-follow” or a “no-follow” attribute, search engines do see those links, and they DO have impact for the rankings.

For example: Squidoo lenses allow comments, and those comments are no-follow. many Wordpress blogs comments are no follow as well. But if you comment on those pages, and add 10-15% of the “no-follow” backlinks to your arsenal, you will see a huge increase in rankings.

We have tested this ourselves, and we know this can be proved by many other marketers. If you have some time for researching, you can do a Google search and you will find many blogs where people share their results with do-follow links and no-follow links. You definitely want to have a mix of both, even if the no-follow make just a small part of the overall backlink count.

0 PR backlinks from inner pages. Do they help?

When building backlinks on high PR sites, of course the best thing you can get is a backlink from the homepage. But that`s hard to get for free, and if you buy, one backlink of that type usually costs around $10, which is a lot.

Now, there is still a way to increase your page rank and search engine results position by getting the backlinks from the inner pages of the high PR website.

For example, our site http://linkdominators.com currently has a PR of 2, while this exact post has a PR of zero. Yet still, if you leave a comment for this post, you`ll get a backlink of PR2, eventhough the exact page you leave the link on, has PR0.

Same thing with forum profiles, and profiles on various membership sites. These links are usually referred to as “high PR profile links”, and they are the same links we are building for our customers at http://linkdominators.com. Once you become a member of that site or forum, you get a brand new page which is your “profile page”. There you enter details about yourself, and you can add a couple of links pointing to your site. Because the profile page is new, it just cannot have a PR, but this does not mean that your backlinks are not valuable. They are, because they carry a PR of the HOME page of the site, not of the profile page of yours.

And, as we said previously, most important thing is to keep on building backlinks, not worrying about the PR, do-follow / no-follow, or anything else. Just build more and more backlinks, they all count.

Ok, we have to admit – “Can’t See My backlinks on Google…” This is the MOST POPULAR question we get with emails each and every day. People are building backlinks, working hard, spending countless hours or money to outsource to get the links built for them, but they can`t see them on Google!

This is so unfair! Right?

Well, it might look so, but in reality, things are a bit different. And we`re going to tell you something you should know, if you are one of these people worrying about your backlinks not being seen on Google.

“I can`t see my backlinks on Google”

First and foremost, tools are not accurate.   None of them – period!  Take a look at any two  link checking tools and you will get different data.

That being said… You need to work on BUILDING links, not CHECKING them We can assure you, and every successful SEO marketer can – the backlinks that you build, they DO WORK. Even if you don`t see improvement right away, you WILL get a higher rank in a short time. There`s just no way around it, unless of course your site is sandboxed. Do not worry about the number of links you see some system shows, but concentrate on building them – this is what pays off in the long run!

Now, the truth about the links not being shown by Google.

If you build 200 backlinks to any of your pages per month, you are doing great and will see a big improvement in your rankings over time. But when you check Google 3 months later, it will never show you 600 backlinks.

One of the reasons – not all of the backlinks get indexed fast, some might even take several months for the search engines to see (which is great, because your backlinks look natural, and it looks like you keep on getting them continuously!)

On the other hand, Google never promised anyone to show you what they see. They might see 550 backlinks but show just 230. And why should they show you what they see, right?

Other tools to use

Another example is Yahoo Site Explorer. This tool shows the backlinks pointing to the site, once you enter the URL. Yahoo Site Explorer seems to be much more accurate compared to Google, so many marketers use it instead.

There is also a backlinks checking tool at BacklinkWatch.com, and while many times it shows more links than Yahoo Site Explorer, it still isn`t accurate.

… and again…

Whatever you are thinking of it, you`ll never know why different search engines and tools do not show the backlinks correctly. But once again, checking for backlinks will not increase your ranking positions. But building more and more backlinks will definitely help! So let`s spend our time on things that have positive impact on the rankings – building backlinks!!
